If you are a fan of sports books with a quirky twist to them, then you need to read this book by John H. Ritter. It is filled with sports talk as a local baseball team becomes responsible for the fate of the entire town. Ritter has a lot of fun inventing new words to describe the action, and his vivid language choices only enhance the action. The ending of the book is really unexpected.
The best part of the book is the richness with which Ritter develops each of the main characters. They seem to jump off the page, they are that realistic.

It had an ending to "die" for.... haha get it? cause of Doc.
Haha yeah i get it dude. But i did not enjoy this book very much, mostly because of the ending...
I think that the book The Boy Who Saved Baseball was a very good book! I like all the excitement that was building up when the game was about to begin! I think that you should read this book if you are looking for a sports book with lots of excitement! Ellen B11
I thought this was a great book because, I never knew what was going to happen next.

This book was horribly good and
exquisite. I liked that it was baseball.

I thought that this book was ok because you could sometimes tell what was going to hapen and the rest o the time you could not.

The ending was easily predicted. The book itself was ... okay. It was over-rated though. You knew from they would get Del Gato to coach, they would win, and that Cruz De La Cruz would leave right before the big game, leaving the team to win for themselves. We all knew that Tom and Maria would eventually "get together" and that Doc would die.

I think The Boy Who Saved Baseball was a good book that talked about how kids worked together to reach their goal to win the big game. Marak H. 11
i didnt really like this book because it left so many things unknown and i like books that dont do that.

This book was bad it was too predictable i read ahead and it was hard not to spoil the book for the rest of the class
people should read this book because it was a good but still an ok book and then you can find out what hapends at the end.

I agree with Taylor B. '11. But I also have my own take on it. I thought it was pretty good and the most obvious part was Doc's will in the back of the notebook.

I thought this book was ok, a little over dramatic at certain pionts in the story. I was just glad there was a little bit of a love story going on. The title gives it away which is a little dumb. I kind of thought Cruz would leave because the prophecy.

Well, I didn't REALLY totally "love" this book. It was only okay. See, I'm not a HUGE fan of sports books so ... that explains that. But, I was REALLY surprised that I didn't hate it. I don't really necessarily like sports books because they don't spark my interest enough. I actually kind of liked this book because it made a lot of sense, it had twists and turns, it was realistic, and it didn't have just things about sports. It had mystery, a teeny bit of romance, it had twists and turns all added into the sports part of the book. That's why I only thought it was okay.

The boy who saved baseball was an amazing book that had me on the edge of my seat every time I read from it. I still am confused on who Cruz really was but thats okay because it keeps me guessing on the possiblities. I think they should make a second book about tom an maria's romance;) and then they could tell us what happend to the town after the game. Daniel G. '12
I think this book was an ok book. Not the best, but I kinda liked it.. Even though it was predictable it was suspenseful too and I like how it leaves you confused with who Cruz is and if Tom wrote the book in the end.

I predicted the ending from chapter 1!! It was a good book anyways, it had a lot of unpredicted parts.
